About
Grind with Purpose
Steady Grind Coffee Roasters is a father–daughter project, roasted in small batches in Sussex, Wisconsin.
The "Junior CEO" is Addy. She's eight, finishing third grade, and has been my sidekick since she was small enough to ride in a BOB running stroller. We called them Daddy/Addy adventures back then — lunch dates, long walks, the kind of ordinary stuff that turns into the best memories. She cheered from the sidelines of a lot of finish lines: the Silver Rush 50 in Leadville, the Rocky Raccoon 100 in Texas, and the Fall 50 in Door County, which is about as Wisconsin as it gets. Ultramarathons teach you something simple — the miles only add up if you keep moving, one steady step at a time.
That's the idea behind this coffee.
We spend our time together making things. Turning pens on the lathe down in the basement shop. Building small projects side by side. Training our Vizsla, who Addy helped raise from a puppy and who is now a Grand Champion. We pack up the camper most weekends we can, because the best conversations happen around a fire with a cup of something hot.
Those weekends are the seed of something bigger we're calling Out of Office WI — a project about Wisconsin state parks, camping, and slow travel with the family. It's still mostly a concept, but we'll start putting content out this summer. If you're the kind of person who likes a good trail and a good cup of coffee, stay tuned.
Steady Grind is the extension of all of that — the running, the crafting, the camping, the time spent side by side. Every bag is roasted in small batches, one origin at a time. When a lot is gone, a new one rotates in. Nothing mass-produced. Nothing rushed. Just good coffee, made slowly and on purpose.
Grind with Purpose. We mean it.
